Why Choose The AR Bonaventure Program?

Reasons to Choose the Bonaventure Program

What is an IEP?

I is for individual
For each student we write an I.E.P., we make the learning experience for each student an individual one. Therefore we follow the I in the I.E.P.

E is for Educational
Even though students receive an individual plan for success, they are educated in the general school population. Hence, we follow the E in I.E.P. We educate each student in the least restrictive environment. The least restrictive environment means that if a student has the ability to be in Honors Level Math, they may take Honors Level Math even if their ELA needs require placement in College Prep Level or Academic Level. Bonaventure students are not rostered together in their classes. Therefore, they do not travel through the school as a group.

P is for Program
In the Bonaventure Center we assist our students with planning for the future. Hence, the P in I.E.P. We are one of the few test centers in Philadelphia that provides testing accommodations for students with disabilities for the SAT. This fact has been proven by the College Board. The College Board recommends the Bonaventure Program to students from outside of Archbishop Ryan as a site that provides testing accommodations on the days of the test.

Additionally we work with students during the four years of high school to assist them with their transition to college, the workplace, or the military.
