Bonaventure Testimonials

Grant C, Class of 2013

"After transferring to Ryan from another Catholic high school, I was scared and anxious. I was hesitant to join the Bonaventure program because I was unsure it would help me because the program at my old school did not help me at all. I am glad that I decided to join in the program because the teachers have shown me different ways to be successful and they were always willing to listen to me."

Ryan L, Class of 2013

"I was a transfer student from Northeast Catholic when I started Archbishop Ryan in my sophomore year. The transition was very difficult and I did not do very well in my classes. I had to go to summer school for my freshman and sophomore years because of multiple failures. I joined the Bonaventure Program in my junior year and it is the best thing that I could have done because I received the extra help that allowed me be confident in myself and make the honor roll. During my senior year, I received first honors for the first time in my academic career. I am grateful to have the Bonaventure Program because they helped me realize that I can go to college and succeed which is something I did not think I could do in my freshman and sophomore year."

Lauren T, Class of 2012

"Being in the Bonaventure Program helped me so much during my four years at Ryan. The teachers helped me to understand my learning disability and they provided me with skills that I will have for my life. They made me more confident in my reading and writing. Coming into high school I was not sure if I could handle all the work that high school gives but soon into my freshman year, I realized that I could handle it. The Bonaventure teachers went above and beyond to assure that I got the best out of high school and did what they could to help me. The kids and teachers in the Bonaventure Center became a second family to me."

William L, Class of 2012

"When I was young, I was diagnosed with Apraxia of Speech. It is a speech disorder where I have trouble with producing and sequencing speech sounds. All my life, I have been in speech therapy. I have learned ways to overcome my disability through the Bonaventure Center. Throughout my four years of high school, the Bonaventure Program has been a constant source of reassurance for me. During test taking, the teachers helped me when I struggled with a word and they listened to me when I needed help. Without them, I don’t know what I would have done because school would probably have been much more stressful, and I do not believe my high school experience would have been as exciting or rewarding.

There are many children with challenges and because of my experience in high school, I want to become a Special Education teacher. I want to be just like the teachers that help me be successful in high school because without them, I would not have been able to achieve my goals of being on the National Honors Society in my senior year and being accepted to LaSalle University."

Emily N, Class of 2002, Holy Family University Graduate with Honors

"While I was attending Archbishop Ryan High School, I did not realize that I could not have graduated Archbishop Ryan without the help of the Bonaventure teachers. I now realize how they showed me to never give up which has helped me to graduate from college."

Coleen DiFiore - Mom of Jack, Class of 2019

The Bonaventure Program exceeded my expectations.  My son's IEP was thoroughly reviewed and incorporated into his daily learning.  The teachers were great - kind, compassionate and patient.  If there was ever a bump in the road, I could always count on them to advocate for my son.  Bonaventure was, for him, a calm, steady, positive, and loving environment during his four wonderful years at Archbishop Ryan.  We are eternally grateful
