Academics That Prepare Students for What’s Next

At Archbishop Ryan, academic excellence means more than preparing students for the next test or the next grade level. Our comprehensive college-preparatory curriculum challenges students to think critically and explore their interests, all while developing the knowledge and skills they need for college, careers, and life.

With opportunities ranging from Advanced Placement and honors courses to innovative electives, college partnerships, and career-focused programs, Ryan students can build an academic experience that reflects their interests and goals.

Going Beyond the Basics

"I have two daughters who have already graduated and one still at Ryan. The academics offered have fully prepared them both for rigorous college nursing programs. The teachers and administration are phenomenal. They truly treat the students like their own. I highly recommend Archbishop Ryan to anyone considering it!" - Ryan ParentRyan students have opportunities to challenge themselves, pursue their interests, and explore subjects beyond a traditional high school curriculum. Alongside a strong academic foundation, we continue to expand our curriculum with innovative courses and opportunities that prepare students for an ever-changing world.

Curriculum Highlights:

EMT Training Program

Ryan students can now prepare for National EMT certification while still in high school through a unique partnership with SafeTec. Featuring hybrid instruction, hands-on clinical skills training, and nationally recognized credentialing, students that complete the program will be prepared to become EMT Certified immediately after graduation.

Dual-Enrollment & College Partnerships

Ryan offers numerous college partnership courses with local universities, giving students the opportunity to experience college-level academics while still in high school. Students remain on Ryan's campus while taking courses taught by qualified university professors, with opportunities to earn college credit and gain firsthand experience with the expectations of higher education.

Comprehensive Arts Curriculum

The arts aren't just an extracurricular at Ryan; they are an integral part of our academic curriculum. Students can pursue up to four years of coursework in Visual Arts and Music, with opportunities including Orchestra, Music Technology, Vocals, Theater, Visual Arts, Photoshop, and more. Whether they are experienced artists or discovering a new interest, students have opportunities to develop their creativity and talents throughout their high school experience.

Career Readiness Courses

Students can explore potential career paths through a variety of college-preparatory electives designed to connect classroom learning with real-world applications. Course offerings include Real Estate, Sports Medicine, Coding, 3D Design, Marketing, and more. These courses allow students to explore their interests while developing practical skills that can prepare them for both college and future careers.

A Catholic Education for the Whole Person

Above all, we seek to teach as Jesus did, instilling Catholic values in our students that will last a lifetime. Through four years of theology, students explore faith, morality, ethics, and their role in the world around them. Our Faith in Action courses take learning beyond the classroom, giving students opportunities to put their faith into practice through service, leadership, retreats, prayer services, and other experiences that strengthen their connection to their faith and community.

AP & Honors Courses

Students looking for an academic challenge can take advantage of a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses designed to push their skills and prepare them for the demands of college. These rigorous courses allow students to dive deeper into their subjects, develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and pursue their academic interests at an advanced level.
