ELA IV continues student progress in reading and writing. In the first semester students will continue to address their curriculum vitae, will develop essays for college application and will begin to work on the senior research paper (MLA format).

Major tests, quizzes and homeworks will combine with the aforementioned to determine a student’s grade.

     Homework Policy:

             1. All homeworks must be handed in, on time and neatly written out or typed as directed.

             2. There will be a 50% deduction in the grade for each day an  assignment is handed in LATE. An assignment is considered Late when it is not handed in on the date and during the class period  when it is due.

             3. A homework rejected for sloppiness, done in pencil, done on non-standard loose leaf or found to be incomplete will be subject to the late policy if it is subsequently handed in.

     Textbook:

There is an in-class set of Literature books. All students should have their own copy of the book at home as well.

     Classroom Policy:

               1. The school discipline code and dress code will be enforced.

               2. Students are expected to conduct themselves properly at all  times-respecting themselves, respecting their peers and respecting their teachers.

               3. A student may never have a cell phone, ipod, ipad or  beeper on during the class period. It will be confiscated   and turned in to the appropriate school office.
