Be careful not to repeat articles.  You will only get credit for the first submission. See me before or after class if you are not sure what articles you have not done.

Test on Unit 1 - Because we will be on a short schedule on Wednesday, there will be a 30 minute (shortened) test on unit 1.  Study your note packet. Details will be given in class on Monday.

Rice Bowls are due this week.  Even if your Rice Bowl is empty, if you have been giving your contribution in school collections, you must return the box to class on either Monday, 3/26 or Tuesday 3/27 for homework credit.

Because the Sophomore class will be going to confessions on Monday, 3/19, the Gospel Quiz for this week will be on Tuesday. It will still be based on the Gospel for Sunday 3/18.

Gospel Quiz on Monday - Although it is never a bad idea to read both of these Gospels from Sunday's lectionary, the quiz will be on the one read in ordinary Masses, not the one for RCIA Masses. We are currently in the Year B cycle.

End of Course Exam - Check Google Doc below for the list of topics.  We will review on Tuesday with YOUR questions on these topics.  Come prepared with your questions.

Article of the Week due.

I will be on the March for Life in Washington on Friday, so your Article of the Week needs to be put in the basket in front of the classroom before the end of the day.  I will be in Friday evening to collect them and grade them. 

Test on Miracles and Parables.  Study your notes and the three worksheets you were given to do - Miracles of Jesus, Parables of Jesus, and The Two Greatest Sacraments (Eucharist and the Transfiguration).

If you did not do an Article of the Week last week (1/5), then you need to do one for this week.  If you have already turned one in for last week, you have a free week this week.

This week's Article of the Week assignment will be read in class.  You can finish it at home if you do not finish in class on Tuesday.  The article is "Joyful and Triumphant" by Sen. John McCain. Do NOT send the summary through Google Classroom. It must be placed in the basket in the front of the room.

If you are taking the re-test of the Beatitudes test, you must tell me before or right after you class period.  I am having the test run off at 6th period and must have an accurate count for the copier.

 

The re-test, as I said in class on Friday, will be after school on Monday 12/18 in my classroom.  No Exceptions.  Grades are due and progress reports must be filed by Tuesday morning.

All grades are in for the first quarter, with the exception of the EXTRA CREDIT PROJECT that is due on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6th.  Details for the extra credit project are posted on the class website since 10/20. No extensions will be given.

 

If you have any questions about your grade, or feel that there is something that is incorrect, you MUST SEE ME IN SCHOOL on Monday or Tuesday. I will be finalizing the grades on Wednesday and closing the quarter.

I am getting articles about FRUIT!  They have nothing to do with Theology and I did not assign them.  Use the class links under ARTICLE OF THE WEEK to get the appropriate articles.  I will not accept articles that I don't have linked on that page.

Each class will be preparing a Care Box for the retreat in October.  Students are requested to bring in one or more of the following items:

Grains (Oatmeal, Cheerios, whole grain pasta, brown rice - box or bag)

Fruits and Vegetables (canned, packed in water or juice)

Soup (low sodium)

Meats and Protein (canned fish - tuna, salmon, sardines; peanut butter; dried or canned beans

Dairy - dry milk

 

These products will be shared with a network of over 40 food cupboards in the Philadelphia area.

Test on Thursday - BRING A PENCIL

Study - All notes, vocabulary, Literary forms (Anthem, etiology, genealogy, hyperbole, parable, anthropomorphism) 

Be able to identify the writer of a passage and explain your answer.

Topics - Compassion, Paschal Mystery, Divine Revelation, Literary Forms in the Bible, Types of writers in the Pentateuch

Read Genesis 2:4-25 and be prepared for a quiz on the reading.
