I  did not assign any written homework for a couple of nights for you to finish up.

All note cards with sources were due in my inbox no later than Monday night. 5/15/2017

All papers are to handed in at the beginning of your class.

Read article 42-43. The directives were explained to you in class today.

Note cards were due over the week end and no later than Monday. When reading the notecards several students have neither and more than several have no sources. These are a must. .  All research papers need note cards and sources.

Write a reflection in your prayer journal on the joys of preparing for your prom, the gifts that came from it and one significant moment.

Write a poem, song, prayer or meditation of your own about the meaning and importance of silence in your life.                                                                                          There are many reasons we do not attend proms so I apologize for not putting it in the assignment earlier. Extra Credit

Holy Week Services.  Write a paper on each of the following using 8 sentences each.

Holy Thursday Mass (usually about 7PM)

We celebrate these special, sacred days with our liturgies.  Our Churches have an ambiance that symbolize and reflect the meaning of this memorial.  Therefore, a written description of how the Church was decorated and different is important.  Be sure to include the time, parish, and celebrant.  Give a physical description of your church, for example, altars, flowers, music and overall atmospheres.

 

What was different from our Sunday Liturgies?  What was the same?  Readings - did they lead you to the focus of this day?  How so?

 

Were there significant changes in the beginning, middle, or closing?  Wha were they?  Why are they a part of this celebration?

 

Ending procession - describe it.

 

Describe how you felt as you reflected on the WHOLE celebration.  Had you invited someone to accompany you?  Were you able to share the experience?

 

Good Friday (usually about 3PM or 6PM)

Liturgy presents a significant change.  It is not Mass, as there is no consecration.  Use the above questions or suggestions to guide your writing.

 

On Saturday, there is no Mass.

 

Easter Vigil is on Saturday after sunset.  The above guidelines would also help.

 

Where? Celebrant?  What was different from our usual Sunday Mass?  How was the Church decorated?  What special prayer was sung/intoned?  Describe your experience.

What a day! It felt like a raceway.

 Therefore I am adjusting some of the homework. The Vocation book assignment can be postponed. Packet 11:2- work on it for one half hour and then stop (NO TV),  10:2- 10:1  you were given some time to work on it in school today. Be sure you read the directions. You had half of each paper finished already- before today.   NB As seniors we cover much more in the  4th, 5th, 6th, 7th  *th , 9th, 10th commandment then obey your parent, don't kill, don't steal. How does Commandment apply to   ? duties to civil authorities ? their duties to you ? calumny

? fornication  ? casuel sexual acts ?death penalty ? chasity ?pomises. These high school issues from the text NEED to be part of you responses

Keep the Living as Disciple book. We will use them 1 day a week.

Read: Vocations Article 1 pp.8-14.

Study vocabulary words from Chapters 11-12 in the Disciple Book. Write the definition for the words on p. 245 in your copybook

Do Journal Exercise p.257. Write your thoughts from the second and the third bullet

Ouiz on pp.249-252 whch also includes the voc.words. Write the definitions for the voc. words  given in this as you did for the 6th Commandment section.

Bring both books to class.

Review pp 237-240. Do "What about You Personally?" from p. 240 in you prayer journal. Each part requires at least 3 sentences. Be sure your work is neat, reflective of you and clearly stated. Have one  line between each question. Use your grammar and  punctuation rules. Let your work reflect that of an intelligent 12th grader ready to embark on the colleges.   Bring both books to  class each day.

Review pp.229-236. Using tthe notes from 2/28 - vocabulary.( I will put them up on the power point tomorrow.)  Define each term. Also write one  or two facts that helped from the information given in the above pages.  There will be a quiz on Tuesday. Sorrry with the changes and 8th period helping for Ash Wednesday, we did not complete all the work. This is a disadvantage with trying to give the homework ahead of time

1. Prayed, shared and wrote in our Journals on Is:10:1-2,58: 3 and 6-7, 61:1, Ez. 34:4, 7: 9-11 and Matthew( see p. 67.)

2. Read and discussed pp. 68-72, restudied the 8 Faith words from chapters 1-4 and had a quiz on these  8 words plus the name of the encyclical we had read the excerpt from Worksheet 3 and had comlpeted #3 on

Answer:  Make a "disciple decision".  Name the most important wisdom for living your life that you have discovered in this chapter.  Needs to be four sentences in your copybook.
