Archbishop Ryan will be hosting New Student Orientation for Freshmen and Transfer students on Thursday, September 3, 2020. Students will be split into their roster groups for a morning and afternoon session to allow for proper social distancing and deep cleaning between sessions. Orientation is mandatory and will allow new students to get accustomed to our school's processes, rules, and daily operation. Orientation will last approximately 2.5 hours. To limit the number of people in our buildings, we ask that parents do not enter the building.
What time should I arrive? To allow time to properly social distance, take temperatures, and complete health screenings, we ask that all students be dropped off beginning 45 minutes prior to the start of your session.
Where should I go when I arrive? We will have red tents set up outside of the North and South Lobbies on the front corners of our building where we will be completing health screenings and temperature checks. This is where the students will enter on a normal school day. Students must be wearing a mask while on our campus and should remain a minimum of six feet apart while in line and while in our building.
What should I wear? Students should wear their "Class of 2024" T-shirts. If your grade school did not distribute your Class T-shirt, please wear your uniform polo and we will distribute class shirts upon your arrival. For uniform information, please visit our Uniforms page.
Will students be fed? Breakfast and lunch will not be served but we will have light refreshments available to students.
What should I bring? We'd require that students bring a pen/pencil and notebook and a screenshot or printout of your roster as students will be permitted to walk the halls to find their rooms. We will have light refreshments available.
What information will be covered? During orientation, we'll talk about attendance policy and procedure, safety screenings, daily operations and bell schedule, academic and disciplinary expectations, campus life, technology, and more. Students will also get locker assignments, arrange transportation, and more.
One to One Technology Initiative: Students will be receiving chromebooks free of charge for use throughout the school year. Contracts for chromebooks will be emailed prior to orientation so students can pick up their devices the first full week of school.
