Message From Our President

Welcome to the Archbishop Ryan High School website.  From Academy Road, Archbishop Ryan looks like an ordinary high school, but inside there is something extraordinary, something special, something worthwhile.  As you visit our website, I hope that you will experience Archbishop Ryan as a school worthy of your sons and daughters for the next four years.  They are the treasures of your lives, and the Ryan community will embrace them and prepare them well.

Imagine a school where Enthusiasm, Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, and Integrity are the very fabric of its everyday culture.

Imagine a school where the commitment of faculty, staff, and administrators is to be the premier center for secondary education for all students.  Imagine a school where excellence in academics and student life is an everyday occurrence.  It is our mantra.  We settle for nothing less.  We breathe it and live it every day, in all we do.

Imagine a school with a commitment to excellence, and the Gospel values -   Values like respect for life and dignity for each individual, honesty, compassion, servant leadership, justice.  Your sons and daughters will leave us changed for the better for having lived the Ryan experience for four years.

We are steadfast in our mission and Catholic identity and make sure that the Ryan experience includes opportunities for community service, leadership, athletics and extra-curricular activities.  Our academics, athletics, activities and the arts come alive, and Ryan provides an experience that is second to none.  Students experience a sense of community and receive an education that will serve as a foundation for a life that is productive, rewarding and socially responsible.

At the end of the day, Ryan students learn to believe in the power of faith; to believe in the power of possibility; to believe in themselves.  They become leaders whom people will follow; who learn not to be affected if society does not value healthy virtues as much as they do.  They will learn to live them anyway.  We live in a world that cries out for leadership.  We greet our incoming freshman as boys and girls, and in four short years they are prepared to be tomorrow's leaders.  Leaders by their professional success, yes, but more importantly, leaders of social justice.

We are all called upon to be leaders by living lives of Catholic values, by preaching the gospel to others not with our words, which can often be misunderstood, but through every action and every interaction, we have with everyone, everyday.  And that is what makes Archbishop Ryan extraordinary.  That is what makes Archbishop Ryan the right choice.
